NCDA&CS Marketing Division - Triad Farmers Market

THE FARMERS MARKET IS NOW OPEN!

This is a stop you do not want to pass by. Here you can find a wide variety of "homegrown" fresh vegetables and fruits right off the farm, and you can even talk to the farmer who grew this nutritious and healthy produce.

Hours of Operation:
Monday - Saturday 8:00 AM - 6:00 PM
Sunday 1:00 PM - 6:00 PM

"FRESH PRODUCE"

What is "FRESH" and what difference does it make? FRESH means it came right off the vine, stalk, tree, or out of the ground usually within the past few hours. Taste, nutritious, and simply delicious makes the difference. This produce has not been frozen, and it is all naturally good. FRESH is IMPORTANT.

"HOMEGROWN"

Why is "Homegrown" important? Because it has not been on a truck for a week being shipped in from across the country, or from some foreign country. It is not bruised, it is chosen for sale at this FARMERS MARKET because it is the best our farmers have to offer. There is nothing artificial, and you can ask questions about what variety it is, where was it grown, when was it picked, and you can even purchase in large quantities if you would like to freeze or can certain items.

"VARIETY"

What difference does "Variety" make? All fruits and vegetables are grown from varieties that have been developed to be grown in a certain climate, produce a specific taste, or many other reasons. At a local FARMERS MARKET you can often choose one variety over another, and you have the opportunity to ask what that variety is and determine what taste, firmness etc. you desire.

"ATMOSPHERE"

There is no place left in our fast paced society quite like a FARMERS MARKET. Years ago people in a small town would go to the local grocery store and visit friends and neighbors from that community. We call it a "down on the farm"atmosphere. Well, this FARMERS MARKET encourages all customers to visit, talk to the farmers, visit our concession areas, use our clean rest rooms, and make themselves comfortable on our old style benches. "ATMOSPHERE" is still alive and important to us. We believe after one visit, you too will want to return every opportunity you have to shop and find "that old-time feeling."

"MUCH MORE"

In addition to our "Farmers Only" areas, we offer a year-around opportunity to come to our "MARKET PLAZA" even when there is no locally grown produce and still be able to purchase produce from our merchants who know what you are looking for and will make every effort to supply it on a regular basis.

You will find local craft items to share with you a little of the Heritage of this region of North Carolina. All items must be handcrafted by local craftsmen and must be truly authentic. No Imports here. What a great place to do your shopping for gifts while shopping for nutrition and items to please your family and friends.

There is also a local meat packing company with great pork items of the traditional nature, plus a flavor for the Irish and British cultures.

This facility is owned and operated by The North Carolina Department of Agriculture and Consumer Services.
